The festival marks the end of winter and the arrival of Spring, the harvest season.
Nowadays, people spend the day splashing colored powder all over each other's faces and bodies. They also throw colored water at each other...
Holi is a very carefree festival that’s great fun to participate in if you don’t mind getting dirty. You'll end up saturated with color all over your skin and clothes. Some of it doesn't wash out easily, so be sure to wear old clothes. It's also a good idea to rub hair oil or coconut oil into your skin beforehand, to prevent the color from absorbing.
We love this Festival because can be regarded as a celebration of Unity. It's an opportunity to forget all differences without any distinction of cast, creed, color, race, status or sex. We break all barriers of discrimination so that everyone looks the same.
The Legend of Holika
Holi got its name as the "Festival of Colors" from Lord Krishna, a re-incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who liked to play with the village girls by drenching them in water and colors.
And holi festival is in its way again. Very happy and festive occasion.
